Just got a new (used) pack off eBay and need some advice on how to set it up right-- last pack was all set up buying it off the floor at REI. Any specific rules as in which parts to adjust first -- second-- or just keep tugging and wiggling until everything seems to work.

In my opinion the best place to adjust your pack is on the trail. If you had another before this one that you used on the trail then you should be familiar with what everything does. Just snug it all up and fine tune it on the trail.

Loosen everything first. Then hip belt > shoulder straps > load lifters > sternum strap.
