I have an Osprey Atmos and I'm a sweater. How do I clean my pack in order to avoid feeling like I'm putting a shirt on that smells like I've logged 150mi in it? Thanks!

In another post someone mentioned using soapy water and a brush and oxi-clean.

Smell is good. I have washed my pack a few times to only have it still stink after about an hr of hiking. I enjoy the smell, brings back the good Ol' memories.

I'd suggest throwing it in a bathtub and soaking for a bit. Use a scrubber brush too. If you can take the stays out, consider putting it in the washing machine. If you ever consider going ultralight weight, you will be happy to know that you can throw your pack in the wash any time you like! Cheers!

Car wash, and hang it in the sun for a few days.
Car wash gets the big stuff out, sun kills the bacteria causing the stink.

I soaked it in the bathtub and washed it with mild dish detergent, squeezing it into the padding, then rinsing it out twice. Then dry it in the sun.

Jethro, white vinegar is a great odor killer

I just wear it. At the end of a long day it smells better than me.

Said it before I'll say it again: Household ammonia. Soak it overnight, no scrubbing needed, it's ok to dilute the mixture with some H2O. The longer it soaks the more dilute you can afford to make the mixture. Rinse thoroghly. Dry. Stink gone forever.

x3 for the oxy-clean. Fill bathtub with warm water, add the oxy, soak, swish it around violently, then rinse and hang dry.
