Ok, I've bought a VO 24 day pack, an 800+ fill goose down quilt, and a Malpais 7 oz rain jacket from Golite using the 40% off coupon.

Believe it or not, they don't have anything else that I really want so I'm done I reckon.

Now to pay it off discretely .... :)

Cabin fever drives one to dream and SHOP. It use to be good enough just to go through seed catalogs waiting for spring.
Past tense here... Packed away the "winter" gear, had the AC on today and yesterday.Trying to get in some local woods time in before the skeeters break out.

Nice. I will bet they got a lot of sales with that code.... I got the Tumalo jacket (using the code) a few weeks back and like it. Just got an email about those new jackets the other day. You will have to let us know what you think about it when it gets to ya. Did you get the 1 or 3 season quilt?

I got the 1 season (40*) quilt. Seems to be well made and definitely packs down small, though not as small (or light) as my Mont Bell 55* bag.

Nice. I have the RS1 and it is nice, although I am replacing it with a custom quilt that should weigh about 13 - 14 oz.

The Dakota looks interesting, but I thought you were done with GoLite... :)

Yeah I have been going crazy at their warehouse sales of late: 2 quilts, 5 packs, poncho tarp, SL-1, SL-3 and various clothes.

I think that I am done too-- although I am sure my wife and I will still check out the next one that comes through town.

I guess I'll use the rain jacket for a wind jacket too.

Now I'm back to not wanting anything else.. :)

I'm kinda leary about buying anything else - I'll look like a walking golite billboard. They put there name and logo front and center on everything.

That 1 season quilt at 150... 1lb 6 oz...

That's very tempting right now. Thought I would wait until I got up in Virginia to buy my summer bag but might just bite the bullet now.

Anyone have a review of the Malpais out there? Google-fu failing me. I've used a 6oz DriDuck jacket for a long time, but would like something more durable for extended brush hiking. 7oz for a hardshell is attractive.

The malpais is a brand new jacket. Gonna be hard to find any reviews at this point.

Really and truly, I'd buy some shirts but I swear I don't want to look like a Golite billboard.

Too bad they do that.

As long as they don't light up and blink it will be ok.... Or you can truly "GoLIte" and remove the labels... :)

I bought a pair of Golite Tshirts for my thru last year. I liked the fit & fabric, but the damn logo was stitched exactly where my pack strap rubs. An hour with my Swiss Army, and I was generic.

Did you just go by Frisbee when you were hiking?
