My post will not be very useful, because I can't remember the name of the product, but...

A few years ago, I remember reading about a camera mount that could be attached to the bottom of a hiking pole. The pole could be extended in front of the hiker, to film himself while walking.

I don't know if this is the type of thing you're looking for. If so, there must be someone here who can remember what that gizmo is called.

It also seems a lot of companies make hiking poles with camera mounts on them. Might be easier if you need a new set of poles.

It's called a stickpic http://www.thestickpic.com/
But it uses a 1/4 20 thread found on cameras.
You could epoxy a 1/4 20 nut to your phone and use this gadget though.

StickPic. That's the name of the product I was trying to remember.

Thanks, Chubbs and IceAxe.

You need to check out this thread,

Good find, Milkman.

I remember seeing that thread when it was originally posted and thinking it was a very creative, but simple (and inexpensive) solution.

On the front of some of their packaging they show it wrapped around a "hiking pole" Could also work.
