What do you carry, when hiking? Cash, credit card,debit card or what? Also where do you carry, on your person or in your backpack?

I carry my driver's license, military retirement ID (for medical insurance purposes) and a debit/credit card. I place these in a ziplock (the little snack size) along with about $20.00 and keep them in the zip pocket of my pants.

I carried my normal everyday wallet, and everything that was in it; insurance card, credit/debit card, cash, driver license etc...

Then again, I wasn't and wouldn't really be going for ultra light.

Drivers license, insurance card, $20-30 cash in a tyvek wallet in a inside top zippered pouch of my pack (6 moon designs Swift). What else would you need?

caried my ID and never mre thn $40 at a time..i kept it in like a lil randoms bag in my pack.

Cash, debit, cc, license, medical insurance card in ziploc in pack. Good to have an extra debit card at home to mail to you if the strip wears out
