View Full Version : 100 mile loop in the north east?
Does anyone know of a good 100 mile loop in the pa, ny, ct general area?
possibly AT, shawngunk ridge trail, long path but that might actually be possible at the moment (problems on the LP) and i'm not really sure how long it is, but i'd say its fairly close to 100 miles

Are you limiting yourself to the AT and the immediate corridor or are you considering trails anywhere in those states? The Susquehannock Trail System in Northern PA is an 85 mile loop with a connector to the Black Forest Trail which is 42 miles itself. I forget the exact length of the connector; I think 10-15 miles.

In PA you could also combine the Quehanna with the Chuck Keiper, both are loops and not far apart so you could walk between them. I think there's a connector trail. The Donut Hole is linear, about 95 miles, but the two trailheads are not far off the same highway, so hitching or getting a shuttle should be possible.
I'd imagine you could pretty easily put together a 100 mile loop in the White Mountain National Forest area. Tons of trails there.
And if you're looking for further south, a 100 mile loop in Harriman State Park in NY would be easy to do as well.
