I've recently created a program for aimed at assisting Thru Hikers in planning the logistics behind hiking the Triple Crown trails. Rather than time, these programs focus on calculating the caloric requirements between locations while providing the user with a distance and elevation profile for the selected section. Ideally, the program would be used in planning and drawing from bounce boxes at various resupply points. Full information on is available at www.thruhikercaloriecounter.com.

Additionally I would like to offer readers of this forum a 30% off coupon, as I'm sure I will find your comments and insights invaluable. The coupon code is whiteblaze and will be good through the end of April.

Feel free to reply to send any feedback and thoughts on the program to [email protected]. Thanks!

Looks and smells like spam.
And one can never eat or carry enough "spam" to fulfill the caloric requirements burned on a day to day hike on a thru.

Wouldn't it be just as easy for a person to go to a store every few days and buy what they need.... go with the flow, it gets you off the trail, break the monotony of the routine and then get back on the trail. Pig out while there, restock the pack and move on.

For Blissful: a reasonable concern, but I checked with the webmasters to ensure there was no problem with this post
For SWjohnsey: point taken, price has been dropped to $29.95. With the coupon it costs less than a cheap meal
For Kayak Karl: We can buy more spam than that!
For Jima:This is good from time to time but costly in both extra time and money, some folks are unfortunately constrained by both when they set out on a thru hike.

Keep the questions, comments and criticism coming, its the only way this program will evolve.

Not to my knowledge. If so, somebody needs to get me my cut. ;)

The OP may be in a borderline area, but so far has not tipped over into outright spam/commercialism.
