With gas going up almost every week, have many folks thought about using some other way to get to the trailhead (other then the car)?
I am taking Amtrak from Toledo, OH to Wash. DC and DC to Gainesville, GA. An old college friend is picking me up from Gainesville to Springer. I will be hiking a 107 mile section to Franklin. My wife will be driving down and picking me up. I anticipate it will save me a few dollars, and the train ride should be fun.
