I am starting a section hike on Monday March 7th.
Planning on hiking the approach trail to Springer. I was just wondering how well marked the start of the approach trail is in Amicalola Falls? Are there detailed directions on were to go once in the Park?

This link gives step-by-step directions from the parking lot at the visitors' center:

Not that you'll probably need the help, seeing as there's a great big arch that marks the start:

Dude, NO worries, you park your car or get dropped off. Walk down the side walk look for blue blazes. I hope you enjoy every single last step going up!!!! haha. I would get water at the top not carry a bunch up to save on some weight.
hope that helps some. The whole AT easy easy to follow, plus there should be some Thru's starting out then anyhow.
Have fun on those stairs lol.
