I finally found an eVENT sombrero, whaaaahoooo.

I found this website the other day and wondered if anyone has any experience with this company. It looks like they make a few different versions in eVENT but I am most likely interested in the Vineyard Haven Storm Hat. They look like they are making a product similar to the Tilley’s. I was going to buy an OR Seattle sombrero but now I might go with one of these because it would be more breathable. How do you think it would compare to the OR ones? What do you think of this product?

I thought the OR sombrero was quite the good idea, but man I haven't used that thing much at all, even living here in Seattle. With hoods on jackets, it didn't really serve any functionality.

It looks interesting but how do you buy it? They don't have an online store or any sort of "Dealer Finder" that I can see.

Click on the "Buying Info" link. You'll see several online stores listed.

eVENT is a line made my Integral Designs. I recently received one of their catalogues in the mail and it is chopped full with eVENT stuff. Its a relatively new line.

Now that's bizarre. I clicked that "Buying Info" link a minute before I posted and it didn't have any of the stuff that's there now. It just said "More info here later".

Cross my heart. There was nothing there.

Oh well. Anyway I like that eVENT hat. I think I'll pick one up. Thanks for the heads up.

looks very HOT (as in temperature)How so? I do wish it had a few "ports" or vents around the top. Does the OR hat?

BTW, eVent is more than twice as breathable as GoreTex.

eVENT is a line made my Integral Designs.eVent is material (not sure who makes it and I'm too lazy to find out), ID just happens to be one of the first gear makers to actually use it in North America.
