Some of you migh find this amusing. http://cgi.ebay.com/Field-Oil-Gas-Multi-Use-Stove-built-in-pump-fuel-bottle-/110657157151?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item19c3ae381f
Looks like an aftermarket modification of the Coleman "400" series multi-fuel stove I have in my equipment closet, that uses white gas, gas, and with the modifying tube kerosene. :-?

Saw one on the trail last year I think he said he bought it at REI. His stove alone was around 2lbs. His pack near 50. He took a leave from work to do the whole trail, never hiked before, went to REI to get equiped!!!! They saw one coming when he walked through the door, he had everything you would never need, hence the 50lb pack.
I believe for nearly everyone it is an evolving thing, at one time I remember hoisting a 60lb pack but now more like 30lb or less, the lighter the better as they say. :)
I started out years ago with a 60lb pack. Getting comfortable with gear weight/food/water at 14 lbs now. So much fun learning and evolving. Wouldn't have traded it for anything. Also has me wondering how things will change in the future!
