NOBO and SOBO

so I've deduced that NOBO means you start in Georgia and go north? and SOBO is starting in Maine and going south.....i think have that right.

But what do the acronyms actually stand for?

NOBO = Northbound

SOBO = Southbound


GAME = Georgia to Maine

MEGA = Maine to Georgia
