Hiya Apple ,Originally I was planning on a month hike starting way south on the Noble Hammock Trail (was suposed to have left today!) but due to a change of plans I won't be able to leave now until Feb. and am planning on a week with my daughter and Grandkids in Tampa so now it looks like I'm only going to have a week or so to hike there (long enough to check out my new gear),so I'm looking at Ocala National Forest or just checking out Withacoochie Forest. I'll probably take the Grandson (7) for 2 days as he is already wanting to go to the mountains with Grampa :) (he is already a seasoned camper from camping up here in Mi. with me before they moved). So I'll have to stay within a reasonable driving distance from Tampa so the daughter can do the drop off and pick up without going too far out of her way for me .Any suggestions on the best place to go would be helpful as it will be my first time hiking in the Sunshine State.Maybe next year I will be able to hike in the tropical south like I originally planned .I'll be going right from there to Chattanooga ,Tn. where I'll meet my cousin who is taking me to Springer March 1st!!!! Shoot me an email if you're anywhere near there I'll give ya a holler.
