"The last full Moon so big and close to Earth occurred in March of 1993." Moon is 14% bigger than usual. Tides will be higher. Sea turtle nests may be in danger in Florida. Good thing it wasn't when the Tsunami hit. (like things could have been worse)
Be on the lookout for crazies on the trail and trail towns LOL.

We're going to get more werewolves now.
Every month my wife has warning signals of possible seizures from her epilepsy at the full moon time. I know it is kind of wierd but having experienced it for many years I know the moon does influence a lot of things. But werewolves are my favorite. told her once to give me some advance warning if she feels her nails and teeth growing. She got a kick out of it.
They say in Michigan that tonight is the night it's at it's biggest.

My daughter (Lupine) and her fiance (Black Toe) and I had a great hike last night up Mt. Everett (MA) to view the "worm" moon. We hiked the entier time without the need for headlamps. The moon rose as a huge orange football and then when it cleared the haze on the horizon, it lit up the trail perfectly. Temps on top were in the 20's with a stiff wind but perfect for a hike with a cyrstal clear sky. I'll post some pics later.
Couldn't convince the wife to "camp" last night; but we did go out for pics
I took a Full Moon hike with the girlfriend. Packed in wine, strawberries, chocolate and a ring:

Watched the gigantic moon rise from the Pine Swamp shelter in Ct last night. It was like someone was pointing a spot-light in the shelter.
Amazing!

Nice! :clap
Here's wishing you more success with matrimony than I've had.
(But at least I don't live in a van by the river )
At any rate, to keep it on topic, I viewed the "bad moon on the rise" with my current love interest...after taking her to a most excellent vantage point on my Harley. ;)
Spent the night at the Thomas Knob Shelter. It was like the lights were on all night.

OK the moon approaches on its closest pass in many years and there are two tides a day, and a large majority of earthquakes occur on close passes, enough for a few scientists to attempt a prediction. And its the highest Earthquake and Tsunami on record and happens the week before, just as the moon is approaching this close moment....hmmm. Coincidence?
MAGS You da man! That's Five BIG Fist Pumps! and you still suck because we all have something to be jealous about.:banana

Given that the tidal influence would be lowest at that time, I'd say yes.
