View Full Version : Tarp question
I picked up dyneema guyline for my tarp.Is that what i should use and why does it seem a tuat-line hitch keeps sliding with it.I'm a new hammacker trying to set up for my first night. Also, were can i get the line and clip that Brad has on his BB hammocks. Thanks for any help,Bob
Dyneema is slippery stuff. You might be able to make it work well enough with variations of the hitch.

Try a variation of the truckers hitch. Shouldn't slip on anything

Why use knots? I find the small Figure 9s indispensable and very quick for setting up my tarp. I recently picked up some knot bones (http://www.niteize.com/products/knotbone) but haven't tried them yet.
Warbonnet guy uses the trucker hitch, looks a little difficult, although not something i cant learn. Not sure what the figure 9 is but sounds very interesting.
Jax,just looked at that link.I like the look of the knot bones.Think i'll order a few. Thanks,Bully Bob

+1 on the figure 9s and the knot bones. I have them set-up on the ridgelines for all of my hammocking tarps. EASY & Quick to use even w/ gloves.
rjjones- you might want to try http://www.animatedknots.com/truckers/index.php. Their site really helps me.
Tons of info there, and great community.
