Beginning tomorrow I'll be conducting side-by-side tests of the Bushbuddy, the BushcookerLT2 and the compact folding Woodgaz stoves. All three stoves will be burning at one time.

You can follow the testing as it takes place here:

"The Great Wood Stove Burn-Off" (http://www.bplite.com/viewtopic.php?f=60&t=4961)

or you can wait till the end of the week when I post the final results here in this thread.

The fourth test has been completed.

These tests are for those interested in burning wood on their thru hikes. No alcohol stoves have been harmed in any way during these tests..:banana

Zelph, your method of testing isn't going to get the best results out of the Bushbuddy stove. Rahter then igniting all your wood at once, it works far better if you constantly feed the wood in over time to keep a consistant flame height as you boil your water. Though I'm sure many users would prefer to use it the way your tests show as many of us are pretty lazy in camp and don't like having to fiddle with things all the time.

I consider myself a "Smoke Magnet" feeding twigs always gets me a face full of smoke:eek:

Vertical stack and top light has made life easy for me.;)

99% of the Bushbuddy users do their fires like you describe.

Watch all of my last years videos and you will see most of them are of top lighting. I've been able to achieve 100 percent sucessful ignition on first try doing it top light.

Some even use rubber tubing to blow on their bottom lit stove fires.

All methods are good, we hike our own hikes, we all have fun.:)
