View Full Version : Quickest way from Erwin to Carver's Gap
I haven't driven up to Carver's Gap from Erwin yet - anybody know the best way?
I'm headed up there in the AM to hike back to Erwin I think.....
Probably through Unicoi to rt 173 to 19E and Roan Mountain and up rt 143
It looks like you can save a lot of time by going to Buladean and cutting over through Hughes Gap on Road 1330 - but I'm not sure what that road is like....

It is pretty winding but a great drive and it is a tough hike NOBO.....so many peaks and false peaks there :)

Go to Unicoi,turn right onto TN 107 go a few miles to Limestone Cove turn left onto ?,which comes out on 19E between Hampton and town of Roan Mtn.Then it's 143 up to the gap...
yes go to hardware store in unicoi and turn right ... turn left by scotts farm and head towards the laurels. at the "T", take a right. At the next "T" take a right. At the next "T" [19e] the 4 lane, take a right towards roan mt.
