Buy a new tent. Barring that what kind of tent is it? Some fabrics are easier to patch then others.

I've seen SilNet used to patch holes in tarps.

*** ya don't need a new tent. Can get new rainflys from hennessy, warbnnet, and many other places.

Also, some tent companies will repair their own gear if you send it in. I guess it depends on how much you want to spend on repairs.

I know. I'm just lazy and I like fancy new gear. Nice to know that you can buy a new rainfly, though. I'll have to remember that.

It all depends on what the rainfly is made of. Contact Sierra Designs and ask them what they recommend.

Buy some tent repair tape for about $5, and don't worry if the color isn't an exact match. This should last for years, depending on use, and you can just replace the patch if you need to. Check any good outdoor store and they'll have it.

Eventually, the UV damage to the fly may become extreme. Sierra Designs should sell you a replacement fly for the tent in that case. My only problem when I ordered one is that they almost sent me one for a tent that was 10 year newer than the one for which I needed a replacement fly. That should tell you something about how long a tent fly can last with patches. (My tent had gotten into a fight with a barbed-wire fence years prior...)
