Harrisburg PA area (Duncannon, Boiling Springs/Carlisle) - local outfitter closed last year, 500k+ metro with no hiking outfitter at all

Franklin, NC. The outfitter there (Three Eagles Outfitters) blows chunks. They're a lot more concerned with selling trendy clothing than gearing up serious hikers. JMO/YMMV.

Just cause they will not let you in?
They are a good store, not specifically ultralite hikers based, (how to starve), but for resupply, repair or knowledgable purchase, they are fine.
There is also already a new Outfitter in town...Outdoor 76. Nice shop, limited selection.

Erwin TN. There might be Uncle Johnny's which is a good quick re-supply or gear change. But the inventory is small. And the next nearest decent outfitters is all the way in Johnson City.

That's be an interesting business to put where the Long John Silvers / A&W used to be....
