View Full Version : SNP Parking Near Loft Mountain Wayside

I will be doing a northbound SNP section hike in late April starting around the Loft Mountain Wayside. What is the nearest location to park a vehicle there? The Wayside will be closed (opens 4/22) so I doubt the parking lot will be available to use. By any chance is there a parking lot adjacent to the start of the Patterson Ridge Trail between mileposts 79 and 80 of Skyline Drive? This would be an ideal location for me if there parking there. If so, I would take a side trail on the eastbound side of Skyline Drive past the Ivy Creek Maintenance Hut to catch the AT north.

Pay attention to the possible Govt shutdown on Friday. National Parks would be closed too.
