All the above, plus an afternoon of strong thunderstorms, lightning, wind, tornado watches and warnings. Hoping we don't get hail beating down our blueberry blooms, and other young plants. Welcome to North Alabama.

The north does seem to have had to waited a little longer for spring, than the south. Spring sprung early here in Jax, unlike last year winter just seemed to drag on and on...

So does that make phil http://www.groundhog.org/more-to-know/faq/ right or wrong:-?

Signs of spring??
** Pulled out my headnet from storage and laid it out ready for the next trip.

** Got my Herbal Armor insect repellent out and ready.

** Don't have to carry my down parka or my down booties or down pants, etc.

** The Exped downmat can stay at home. It's a hassle to inflate anyway.

More efficient to leave the ice scraper in that little pocket on your door, that way it is always there. I am all about maximum efficiency, with everything.

Spring? It was 95 last Saturday, and 100 on Sunday. No rain for 6 months.

I went to the gear store and spent a ton of money on stuff that I absolutely did not need. I couldn't go hiking so I took a trip to the store instead :/

I forgot about that even thought I got one on me two weeks ago.

Well at this exact moment here in NE PA, snow is falling from the sky. Forecast low for tonight is 25 degrees.

Hiked a few miles yesterday above the Lehigh Gap, above 1400 ft there's still a few patches of snow on the ground.

Spring has been teasing us the past few weeks but it's still not here.
