so i know people have experienced far worse in life so i hope i don't sound like a cry baby but 5 days before the start of our thru hike i get horrible abdominal pains and bleeding and remember a decade ago when i was hospitalized with the exact same thing in ICU for 4 days. Long recovery back from that weakness. Now, although not as severe, I have to sit here and await blood test results to come back... and if my counts are low then tests will resume. If they are good, then i'm free to go about my hike as scheduled...
So if you are a praying soul, i would appreciate yours more than you will ever know.

THANKS!

Man I can't imagine how you must feel.... dang.

Hope your test results are good and that you are able to go on your hike.

It's a tough thing... health is more important than riches - and hikes.

Prayers sent. Also hope that your doctors have learned something new in the last decade that will help you. Take this time to relax if you can, worry makes everything worse. Our bodies have their own ways of telling us what we need to know--we are just too distracted to listen sometimes and they have to talk loud to get our attention.

Hoping for the best, grayfox

This family of whiteblaze members is truly awesome. A quick report:
My blood tests came back full on perfect this morning!!! NO anemia, liver and kidney function excellent, and white blood count a bit high, indicating the cause may have been a possible virus.

AGAIN, thank you all so so much. I feel a love for this community that I have never had before; I can only imagine what it will be like as I encounter life on the AT. You will never know how much your prayers meant to me personally, but rest assured that they were never in vain! This was a huge scare for me based on my past stomach history.
We will leave as soon as my strength is back: shooting for Sunday !!!:sun

less--gotta tell you this joke my Aunt used to tell: A guy is driving around and around this big parking lot. He's in a hurry and he says, "God, please send me a parking slot so I can get to my job interview on time." Lo and behold, just as the prayer leaves his mouth, a slot opens in front of him. He looks up and says, "Never mind, I found one." The Lord does indeed work in mysterious ways. Have a great hike.

So my wife went down with knee issues after 100 miles.
I need to get her settled, not homeless, and then figure if
I want to hike this journey solo. Maybe go SOBO, maybe
Continue where we left off. This is a tough decision... It all depends
On how quick things transpire from here.
