Hello! Ok...here is the deal I have several different cooksets. I have a particular one for different scenarios. For instance...I use my GSI pinnacle dualist with my brunton raptor canister stove when its me and my wife or another backpacker. I have a GSI kettle outfitted with the White Box Stove for more solo ultralight bacpacking. Now I have another GSI kettle...I wld like to make it an alky.stove too...any suggestions on a stove or.maybe a different setup all together?

what is the difference with the new GSI Kettle compared to the other one? By the way, how does the White Box work with the GSI Kettle? I just ordered a White Box for mine.

The two GSI kettles are the same. However, one of them I bought came with one cup with neoprene sleeve, one bowl and one Foon. The other was just the kellt. The mouth of one is not as wide as the one that came with the cup and bowl. But as far as the inside bottom circumference goes, it is the same. The depth is the same to.

The White Box Stove is awesome with the kettle. I use ite WBS on my 1.8 liter Pinnacle Dualist stove as well. Subscribe to my blog and stay tuned. I am about 90% done with a comparsion of the GSI 1.8 liter vs. GSI 1 liter Kettle using the WBS and I will be running test on both with the Brunton Raptor canister stove.

My blog is www.mybackpackingblog.org (http://www.mybackpackingblog.org)

I just did a review on the REI Folding spork.

The diameter of the kettle is 6.1875" across the bottom. This is perfect size for the WBS. You can get the GSI Kettle by it self for like $22.00 or get the one that has the cup, bowl and foon for $32.00...I personally like the one with the cup because the mouth of the kettle when you take the lid off is a little larger and the lid in concave me (it's raised higher.)

Hope that helps!...bottom line...the kettle is awesome. I can boil two cups of water with one ounce of fuel in about 5 minutes...not sure how familiar you are with alcohol stoves and their differnet fuels, but you will want to go to an auto parts stove and buy HEET in the YELLOW bottle. It's about $2 a bottle. i think they are 16 oz.

I'm assuming you are talking about the following. If so, then I recommend it. It is the best kettle of the 4 I've used so far.

it's what i used and loved before moving to a titanium pot. the wide bottom really allow it to be used with any stove, and does a great job of catching heat and not wasting fuel. mine has been used with my coffee can wood stove for quite some time now :D

I have the GSI as well, but I wish they made one slightly smaller. I tried to go lighter and picked up a Trek 700 but can not get it to work well with any alcy stove. I keep going back to the kettle. Has anyone used The Optimus Terra Kettle and how does it compare the the GSI? It is a little smaller and slightly lighter.

I like the GSI specifically because it has more usable capacity - it gives me more options. In fact I can use as a pot to cook in instead of just boiling water.

I too love my WBS (http://http://sticksblog.com/gear/kitchen/stoves-extras/white-box-stoves/) (Original) with my GSI Kettle (http://sticksblog.com/gear/kitchen/cook-pots/gsi-hae-tea-kettle/). It really is a great setup for one or two people. But for my thru I believe I will be replacing the kettle with a 0.9L Evernew Ti pot. I feel like if I need to cook it will be a little easier all around to do so in the Evernew pot. Plus, I would like to try one of the Sidewinder cook systems so if I ever do this pot will work with that setup. However, I think that I will probably just go with my WBS with the pot...hhmmm...that is a little confusing huh...

Stick, I have been thinking about the Evernew 600 ml pot. It almost seems like the perfect size for solo and using an alcy stove. Its wider than the Trek 600 and would seem to absorb plenty of heat from your stove. What do you think about Evernew quality?

Well, I aquired this 2nd GSI kettle and figured I would make anothe UL cookset with...NOW...all this talk about the Evernew 600 and the Sidewinder has me wanting to put together anoter cookset...I don't guess there is anything wrong with having four UL cooksets...I mean, how else will I figure out which one I really like, right?:banana

I haven't actually had any of the Evernew products but there are many people that love them so I figure that they are of a good quality.

Actually, the REI Ti Ware pots are pretty much the same as the Evernew. I thought about getting the 0.9L REI Ti Ware pot with my dividend, but there is a small difference in diameter, with the Evernew pot being a little smaller in diameter. Since the Caldera Cones and the Sidewinder set-ups are made for specific pots I figured I will just go with the Evernew since the Sidewinder set up is based on that specific pot. Would hate to get the REI pot and it not fit in the Sidewinder cause it is too large...

Anyway, sorry for the ramble. I never thought that buying pots and "kitchen supplies" would be so much fun...
