Hi All -

I was wondering what people used - in general - for their tarp ridgeline. I've tried what is labeled as paracord from the hardware store, but have noticed a fair amount of stretch and sagging in the line after the tarp is put up. I know that the weight of my tarp can make a difference (right now it's a cheap, blue tarp - soon to be silnylon), but I also know that there must be a material(s) out there that is reasonably lightweight and can still keep a fairly taut ridgeline.

Thanks in advance for your guidance.

I recommend 250lb test Power Pro Spectran fishing line. Buy it from Cabelas, etc.

EMS micro line works great and has very little stretch. You can carry alot more line since thius stuff is so thin. I think it;s rated to 250lbs as well.

i use "zing it" or "lash it" they are the same thing except for the color, they are dyneema, very light weight and very strong for theirs size

1.75mm has a breaking strength of 500lbs and only weighs 0.12 lb/100'

No-Tangle Guy Line (http://stores.tttrailgear.com/-strse-18/No-Tangle-Guy-Line/Detail.bok) from Tree to Tree Trail Gear (http://stores.tttrailgear.com/StoreFront.bok). Still the gold stardard for hammock tarp guy line.
