What do people technically consider consumables? Is this food only? Or what?

Thanks.

Not including containers/sacks/bottles/wrappers as I understand it.

agreed

Sun Blazed- look at it this way, anything decreasing daily by weight may be considered consumables, you could add things like toothpaste etc

but as 10K said containers are not included, so your fuel bottle, water bottle/bladder, ziploc bags are not part ot the consumables

anything that can be consumed.

ie. food, water, fuel and possibly your pet if necessary

my water containers, olive oil container, fuel container and all my stuff sacks are IN my base weight. even 10 zip-lock bags. anything else would be cheating :D

... and you know the penalties for cheating on your base weight are severe. :)

Got another question! This is the first list I've put together of my base weight, can you tell me if this looks right.

Should I go into more detail and weight every individual item, or is putting it into groups okay?

No one mentioned toilet paper and wet wipes as consumables. Not high in weight, but....

Break it down, you will get alot more use out of it.
