I am doing some generic research on the BMT and Pinhoti Trails.
Can anyone tell me at what point the Pinhoti trail connects with the BMT? Specifically I am looking for the distance on the BMT from where the Pinhoti connects south to Springer.
The Pinhoti meets the BMT 70 miles (give or take a mile or two) from Springer between Dyer Gap and Watson Gap.

No problem. If you do decide to hike that, I highly recommend my guidebook LOL.

I wouldn't even try it without it....

I absolutely agree. Extra resource.
For the PT, be sure to get the Pinhoti Trail Pocket Guide (http://www.pinhotitrailalliance.org/pocketguideorder.html). It was very helpful.

Sorry, meant to say excellent resource. Check into it.

SGT Rock, from what I have heard others say about your guidebook, I would not consider going anywhere near the BMT without it. :)

Bearpaw, thanks for that "extra" tip. ;)
I have not yet gotten into planning to pick up guidesbooks. When I am ready, I want to make sure I get a "current" version. I may still be a few years away from my "big" hikes.
I will definately keep these in mind.
