You could just use one of your stuff sacks as a bear bag and leave the duffle out.

I was going to say that there are a bunch of things you could leave out, but the best thing to do is just start hiking. You'll figure out what you do or don't need and you'll be able to send things home in Monson. Besides, it is very fun to suddenly have a much lighter pack after sending things home.
