Hi everyone! I will probably be doing the Twin lakes to Salida/Poncha Springs section of the CT this summer and was wondering what kind of mileage is reasonable. I know it's different to every person's ability, -- my friend and I are in decent shape, coming from MD, but will have been in Colorado for at least a week (more for him) before we backpack this...we will both be doing a lot of hiking during this week before (and hike all the time in MD)--thoughts?

Thanks for your help!

For a person in decent shape, has been acclimating at altitude and is an experienced long distance backpacker, about 15 MPD seems to be a reasonable pace on the Colo Trail.

Have fun!

Conditioning and acclimation are factors for sure... also, your pack weight. How much will you be carrying?
