Stuff sack for sleeping pad

well since Ive just finished talking about saving weight, is there any reason for carrying the stuff sack for my inflatable pad?Up to now I have, but i just started wondering why.

I just roll mine up and put my tent poles inside the roll

If you carry your pad inside your pack then probably no reason to use the stuff sack. If you carry it on the outside I'd use the sack to prevent possible punctures.

I roll mine like a tube in my pack. A little extra padding never hurt any pack.

IMO the only stuff sack is waterproofing sil for your food & bed all the other sacks should be dumped

Those sacks add up quickly, and after a few days you know where everything is, it's about keeping two things dry.

Thanks, I just had one of those blonde moments, when I suddenly found a few more ounces I can save.

I use mine, as it keeps my pad segregated from the other things in the pack; as it is a somewhat fragile/flimsy item, I don't want it to get snakebit or crimped in any way which might impair it's ability to hold air (I use an inflatable).

I kept my inflatable pad on the outside of my pack and used the sack as a little protection plus I ran the pack strap through the webbing to keep it from falling off. Worked great.

I use a Neoair and it doesn't come with a stuff sack but you can buy one.

I don't use one - I just stuff the Neoair down in my pack. I've been using the same Neoair for over 2 years - no problem.

The "Short" weighs 9.5 oz.....

Sea To Summit eVent bag. If you get a large or xlarge, you can keep all your clothes in it too. Saves a lot of volume.

What do you do with a wet tent fly/tarp in the morning? This is the only reason I carry my tent stuff sack so most of the time it is a waste. Would love a way to get rid of it without getting the rest of my pack wet.

I roll it up and synch it down with a cheap nylon strap.

Use my Prolite 3 shorty for a virtual frame in my Conduit. When using my other internal framed packs, I roll it up and use a heavy duty rubber band to secure it and store inside the pack. :)
