I have a Snow Peak mug that I would like to make a lid for for a small pot option. I have some aluminum. I am sure I could figure it out, but I am missing the exact how to.

I like the link. I am just wondering about using the mug w/o the handles. I will only be using it as a pot rarely and mostly as a mug. The lid instructions were helpful. Thank you.

Jason Klass used to sell metal lids for Snowpeak mugs. You might contact him at http://www.geartalkwithjasonklass.com/. I made a lid for a military canteen cup out of an old aluminum camping plate. I cut out a rough outline; inverted the cup onto the cutout aluminum; extended it over the edge of my work bench and gently bent (peened) the aluminum upwards over the edge of the inverted cup while maintaining downward pressure on the cup bottom. I then trimmed the edge with tin snips. It took all of twenty minutes and was really quite simple to do. There are sights on the web showing pictures of how to do it. Unfortunately, the web address escapes my memory. Good luck.

I use several small Snow Peak pots -- and I removed the handles from all of them. I just use a bandana to pick it up from the stove. No big deal. The smaller pots have homemade aluminum lids, just a square piece that I fold over the corners when it's on the pot, like this:

I did make cozies for all of them from Reflectix (aluminum bubble wrap.) That way they keep my meal or drink hot for a long time.
