Hey all:
I'm looking for some advice regarding my first backpacking adventure this coming June.
Three of us newbies are looking to backpack for 3 days/2 nights, either on the AT from Unionville to Culver's Gap or Culver's Gap to DWG...

I've done some hiking on the South Taconic Trail in NY/MA (Alander Mountain trail several times) and I am wondering how it compares to these areas...

any comments?
Thanks!!!

I really like the south Taconics, but I've never been to the DWG area. A great map of the s. Taconics is http://www.bnrc.net/maps/

theres nothing like bear mountain or mt everett or sages ravine anywhere on kittatinny ridge, so theyre really completely different. i'd reccomend south of culver's gap myself. as you move north the ridge gets broader and the trail is away from views more often.
