Has anyone spent the night up on Wayah Tower lately? Ain't talking about the Rock one near the parking lot, the one on down the trail.
Does it still have a pretty good view of the sky? Thanks N...

The rock tower near the parking lot is the only tower i'm aware of. Or are you asking about the wayah shelter north of the tower?

Wesser Tower I believe is what he meant. Nice place for star gazing on a clear night.

My error for not proofing -- I meant the tower on Wesser Bald. Large, open top, would be great for night viewing.

Stayed there about 4 years ago. Best place to camp on the trail. Only problem is that water is a good ways away on the AT North. Also, I didn't get much sleep because the views were just too good both day and night. Just put your tent up on the platform or roll out your bag. People did both when I was there. We had about a dozen people on the tower that night. Added bonus. Unlikely to have any animal or mice problems up there.
