Greylock Conditions?

Hey,
I was thinking about heading to Mt greylock this weekend with my 6 yo son. Just a quick 2 night trip, probably staying at wilburs clearing.
Anyone know how the area is? I know western ma was hit pretty bad by tornadoes. How bout black flies? They a problem right now?

The tornadoes were not near Greylock; they were well east of the AT, from Westfield east along the Mass Pike. Blackflies and deer ticks are likely and mosquitos possible. Bring deet, headnet and treat clothes with permethrin and you should be fine.

The weather forecast for N. Adams has a low of 40F Friday night and probably colder on Greylock (30s) That's good news because it might knock the bugs down for a few days. Just be prepared for it to be a bit chilly. Sat and Sun should be great.

Thanks for the quick info Snowleopard!
Ticks and skeeters I'm used to. Black flies are not my favorite. I do have head nets but i was hoping to not need them :)
