Greetings from Manchester Center, Vermont,

We are getting the house in order right now. The guidebooks state we open on July 5th, but we are now looking to greet guests starting June 15th this season.

We added a couple more bunks in the Dawg House, our overflow area in the barn. Also, we have a new (old) electric piano for those so inclined. It even has headphones so everyone else can relax in peace and quiet.

Most importantly, I have to go shopping for some Ben and Jerry's. Every guest gets a free pint. :sun

Aaahhhhhhhh, Green Mountain House. One of the very best rest spots along the whole AT with one of the absolutely best hosts.

Just checked out your website, Jeff.
Very clean, simple, professionally presented.

How far are you from town Jeff?

We are one mile south of the Manchester Center PO. But, hikers with reservations call from town for a ride to the hostel.

The PO by the library?

The PO by the library?

Manchester indeed has 2 Post Offices. We are NOT near the library.

The Manchester "Center" Post Office (Zip code 05255) pictured in the Companion & AWOL's town map is on Richville Rd....the same road that we are located.

The ATC Companion 2011 says $20/night, but I really shouldn't preempt Jeff.

But, just in case you need to know in a hurry.

Yep... it's $20 and that's higher than last year. But, I promise you get one of the cleanest hostels on the trail.

And we do not allow alcohol....makes my job alot easier.
