Since there's a recent interest in making whiteblaze a little more hiker friendly you could have the computer guy put a chat room on whiteblaze for the members who would like to shoot the breeze...that would save on the amount of threads that aren't really Appalachian Trail essential. All the other "stuff" could be hashed out in the chat room. Even though there's sure to be more than one witty comment against the idea, I bet it would be a popular feature. Just an idea do with it what you want.
