Looks like there was a good bit of rain over the Smokies last night. Would appreciate any reports in the next day or two about how the springs are flowing.

Last year a couple days before I left for a hiking trip on the AT, I called the number for shelter reservations. They were able to tell me what shelters had water. The number is very busy so you'll be calling several times to get through.

Having gotten rained on a good bit between June 19 and 24, I can report that there's plenty of water to be had in the Smokies, though the official spring at Mollies Ridge remained dry as of last Thursday night. Don't know how the frog-strangler that blew through on Friday might have changed that.
