Hitting the trail (literally) on Thursday, 6/23/11 and was wondering if anyone has recent knowledge of how the springs are doing between Delaware Water Gap and Great Barrington, MA.

I know that it has been raining some up that way but it also has been pretty dry that way for several years prior.

Thanks

We've had plenty of snow last winter and plenty of rain this spring, so I dont think you'll have water issues until well into late July.

I did NY Rte 52 to DWG from 5/20 to 6/3 water was abundant, all marked water sources I used were available/flowing and there were a number of unmarked springs that were easy to find. Given the recent rains I expect this is still the case.

we did sections 3 and 4 of NJ (Unionville to Culver's Gap) this past weekend - there was
water most everywhere though a little dry from High Point to Mashipacong. There is water at Rutherford shelter according to guide books and some hikers we met as we traveled south (along with bugs). We stayed at Mashipacong and a nobo noted(in the log book) a source close to the shelter off the trail - clean and cool as of yesterday morning!
We had beautiful weather...nobo's complained of the bugs coming up from DWG to High Point, but we didn't have problems...
