PUR - Katadyn water filters

:confused: Ok, as a first time filter purchaser, it sure seems in my research on the web that the PUR and Katadyn filters are the same thing. Is this one company manufacturing for two product lines or am I missing the obvious difference. Thanks

Just another fairly recent corporate buy-out. Katadyn bought PUR.

Yea - Katadyn bought out the outdoor division of PUR so that PUR could reorganize and expand its growing kitchen supply division. I bought my Hiker filter right as the name changed and the filter box had a sticker w/ Katadyn's name plastered over PUR, but the replacement filter I bought at the same time was still in a PUR box.
