Saturday, July 9th (rain date / finish-up date Sunday, July 10th) 9AM at the Gold Mine Road parking lot on State Game Lands #211 (between Pa. Rt. 443 and the town of Tower City)
Blue Mountain Eagle Climbing Club - PM the Shelter Committee chairman here at WhiteBlaze (Dave Crosby aka "shelterbuilder"), or visit www.bmecc.org (http://www.bmecc.org/)

The restoration project has taken a difficult turn - many of the old logs in the original structure are showing "pervasive decay" from 40 years' worth of weather exposure, and must be replaced. We will be traveling from the Gold Mine Road parking lot to a nearby tract of State Forest Land, where we will finish cutting the remainder of the 23 logs that it will take to replace the damaged logs. EVEN IF YOU CAN'T USE A CHAINSAW, we still need folks to use the log carriers to haul the logs from the felling zone out to the road (not a long distance, but the logs are all 27' long!). With a large enough crew, we can finish this phase of the project on July 9th.

PLEASE NOTE: because of the dangers that are inherent in felling this number of trees - for the safety of all - please leave the kids, the pets, and the booze at home.
