The cougar video taken by Baby Ruth is outstanding. She was favored by good lighting when the big cat crouched on a boulder on Lewis Mountain. What's more, she has beyond-a-doubt proof of a mountain lion presence in the Shenandoah National Park.

In 1998 a friend says him and his dog were stalked by a mountain lion through part of the SNP.

On my last trip thru the Shenandoahs I was obviously "stalked" by thousands of roaring motor vehicles and screaming motorcycles. A mountain lion glides thru the area without a second thought, it's the dang vehicles which need to be videotaped and discussed.

....interesting,....since VDGIF issued a statement within the last year (and an entire story in game news) that Virginia does not have any mountain lions.

Yeah, no joke BigRing. VDGIF is essentially trying to prove a negative. No way one can seriously claim with even 75% certainty that they do not exist in VA considering the amount of available landscape to roam in and the available food especially from odocoileus virginianus.
Where's the film though???

Maybe a hunting season on vehicles is in order.

she has beyond-a-doubt proof of a mountain lion presence in the Shenandoah National Park. Not a surprise . I've known that since the Spring of 1990.

Ah, the voice of reason. If needed I can come up with a harvesting plan with the proper culling details, etc. In the meantime, we need to tranquilize the herd. Wait. They're already tranquilized.
