While traveling with a friend in Mexico, we had one of these. While they are pretty handy, there were a few drawbacks:
1. There is no attachments or accessories to filter mass quantities at a time (filling a bottle or bladder). You use it just like a straw, so you need to drink from a cup or bowl.
2. Suction was an issue with ours. It was like drinking a thick milkshake.
Other than those two things, the ones we had worked wonderfully.
