I hiked up Avery peak this last weekend. I took the Safford Brook Trai(sp) near the round barn camping area up to the AT and then to the summit of Avery. I think it was at the junction with the side trail to "the old man" viewpoint, someone hung a sign that had a MATC sticker on one side and the number 2000 next to it. Is this the new 2000 mile point?
