The game plan for this weekend is to get out overnight: CT or southern MA on the AT. Evening temps are around 60 degrees or so, but who knows what it is in the woods. I'm wondering if I should bring my sleeping bag or skip it. It would be nice to save the 2 pounds (Marmot Helium). Maybe base layers or a bed sheet or something? What are your thoughts?

When the temps are high enough, I usually just head out with my liner (11oz), but I sleep hot naturally.

I would take the sleeping bag.

I also have a Thermolite Reactor sleeping bag liner...maybe take that?

I did the same section/same time 4 years ago with just a micro-fleece liner and I was warm enough in my hammock. There were a few nights on that trip (150 miles) that I got chilly about 3-5am, but I would have been fine if I brought a light coat or fleece, or a warmer shirt to wear to bed. I would recommend a good, warm base layer and just your bag liner.
