From January 28-31, I walked a 45-mile section of the Florida National Scenic Trail inside Eglin AFB. Eglin is an active military installation, and site of regular "live fire exercises". We heard bombs being dropped throughout most of the hike. That made for some interesting hiking.

I was accompanied by WB's very own Hammock Hanger, Youngblood, Profile & Almanac, along with two other friends. The seven of us had a blast.

I have a journal chronicling the section hike. It contains 38 photos taken along the trail. You can visit the journal at the following link;

Enjoy!

Good summation of your long weekend last month. Since I live in Niceville, was born at and work at Eglin, I read your entire entry for your hike along the Florida Trail at Eglin. We are proud of Eglin and its mission, the museum, the Eglin reservation, the state parks you visited, and the walk along Turkey Creek. You did a good job of capturing them in words and pictures. Thanks.
