View Full Version : żż only 5 days to play on the JMT ??
Hey friends, I live in the back yard of the JMT and have been wanting to through hike it for a while now. My dad wants to hike it with me next summer but only has 5 hiking days available. I'd rather just do a section Hume with my dad than a through hike without him. He's in great health, but won't be up for more than 12 miles per day at most. Can you all recommend a 5 day section anywhere along the JMT with access to hike in/out points.
The section from Yosemite to Devil's Postpile/Reds Meadow is ~56 miles.
Sounds good, I'll check that route out. We're trying to arrange a way to park one vehicle at one end and another at the end point so we can get back home without hitching.

YARTS runs a bus between Mammoth and Toulumne Meadows so you don't have to hitch.
