Safest place to park car in Independence for 10 days?

Anyone have any suggestions of the safest place to park my vehicle in Independence for 10 days while Im on the trail? Thanks!!:D

I don't know about right in Independence, there's probably a hostel or shuttle service that can help, but for real security I recommend the Mt Rogers NRA headquarters on Hiway 16 south of Marion. I left my car there for 21 days recently and they gate the lot at night and keep tabs on your car for long periods of time. From there you could easily get a shuttle to Independence.

Marion is a little far from the eastern Sierra.

You may want to ask at the Courthouse Motel, they're hiker friendly.
