Hello I recently purchased a swayer gravity feed water treatment system for my hike. The filter removes particles, protozoa, and bacteria down to 0.1 micron, including giardia, salmonella and cryptosporidia. I was wondering if I should use iodine tablets too. I would prefer not to cause of the taste but my father suggest that it would be a good idea. Any advice would greatly be appreciated. Thanks.

You definitely do not need to use iodine tablets with the sawyer filter.

You could carry them as a backup in case something happened to the filter though.

I would carry enough tablets to treat some water in the event your filter fails, but under normal use you don't need to use both treatments.
