Can anyone tell me the water situation in the Davenport Gap to Hot Springs area of the trail. Doing a 3 day hike up there and am not sure what to expect for availability of water. Has anyone been through that area in the past couple weeks?

Ask 10-K he hikes the area a lot.

I was told thru a private message that the water supply in that area is good as of a few days ago.

My family and I hiked from Green Corner Road to Hot Springs 8-12 AUG and found that the water was low in spots, but no real issue otherwise.
The longest dry stretch runs about 5 miles south of the last shelter just before you drop down into Hot Springs. Other than that, there's plenty of water.
Just north of Max Patch you continuously walk by creeks and streams for a few miles

Thanks for the info! I may try to finish this section from Standing Bear to Log Cabin Road on Labor day weekend.
