Cumulative elevation gain analysis by state?

I am looking for some interesting statistics about the AT to post on a blog, and I was hoping to find some stats on the total elevation gain, state by state. More specifically, I would like to see each "mountain" or climb, listed along with the elevation climbed. Does anybody know if this kind of data exists anywhere? I realize it is an imperfect science at best, but I am not after perfection. Thanks.
