What is everyones thoughts on vests....good or not.....if so what are some good ones????

Western Mountaineering Flash. Light, warm and packs small. I have one and it's in the pack for three seasons.

The thought process here is that you can wear this under a raincoat - in light rain they are most likley water repellent - you can test this with a cup of water over a sink...

they are inexspensive and can be stuffed in a waterproof stuff sack and they compress to the size of a baseball in your pack - remember NOT to store it that way!
